Called Makro on Saturday, 30 Nov 2013 for special on fruit juices as I needed to buy 35 x 6 packs for a Christmas project for the Margaretha Ackerman Home in Pta West.

A staff member told me that the Ceres 200 ml boxes are on special where you can buy 5 x 6 packs for R100.00.

On Sunday, 1st Dec we confirm the special with 2 staff members at food section, and at cashier till nr 57 (10:09).

I request cashier check if till sees fruit juice as a special and he showed it on the till, said at end system will automatically re-calculate to bring the special on the Ceres fruit juice as R100 for 5 packs.

At home I checked invoice and saw they charged R27.95 per 6 pack, no discount. I paid R978.25 instead of R700.00.

I called Makro 2nd December, spoke to Thelma, Front Manager, she said Joy fruit juice was on special, not Ceres. She requests I bring 35 boxes back, and swop for 35 Joy boxes. I am outraged. Does Makro pay my petrol for their mistake? Now I must load a trolly full of boxes in my car, and get 35 other boxes. Disgusted. I want the discount as 4 different Makro staff members indicated to me. I want my R278.25. Unbelievable how Makro just washes their hands of this.
