Terrible customer service!!

I received a popcorn maker as a gift, it was bought from clicks and I have the slip for it but when taking it to the store to exchange for something else, I was told i cant do that on the basis that it was used once. My answer to this was that I am not happy with the popcorn it makes hence the reason for bringing it back. It is still working but the service I received from the store was extremely bad, not only did three staff members give me a hard time about it but the manager told me to come the next day and I need the clicks card that was used for the purchase and they might help me then but it was clear they didn't really want to. It is not my card, it was a gift and the person gave me the slip in case i would like to exchange it. The stores in town did not give me this much of a hard time about returning a hair iron. I am deeply disappointed not only by the bad service but by the policy that a customer has the right to return goods and was made to feel I do not.
