Wont be buying jewelry from American Swiss again

My husband and I purchased a silver ring from an American Swiss branch at the Pavillion Mall in Durban on 24 September 2013 to replace my wedding ring which got lost and I was very disappointed that no less than a month my ring was peeling off the silver part to show an ugly metallic grey. I called the branch on 24 October 2013, I spoke to a lady by the name of Sasha who said she was the manager, she was very polite when I informed her of the problem and my dismay and informed me that it means I have been "using the ring" I was not sure what this meant and I told her that I take my ring off when I come into contact with water or any substance and she informed me that I must bring the ring in to the store on Saturday. When my husband returned the ring on Saturday he was informed that the manager was not in and was requested to come back on Sunday when she will be available which he did. They took the ring to be polished which I don't get as it will still peel off. I have silver jewelry and I have never had this issue. I am very disappointed at the shabby jewelry from what is meant to be a leading retailer in jewelry and I doubt that I will be buying there in the future.
