Last week Saturday I spent some time in the Design Quarter store finding a number of items for a new premises. When I called in on the Sunday to place the order of approximately R13000 that I was going to pay in cash, the store manager abruptly and arrogantly said that I would be charged for 2 weeks storage fee if I wanted the delivery on the 5th on March. Now, I've called in to two other retailers which where more than delighted to take my business and plan their logistics accordingly. Firstly, the manner in which the manager dealt with this was absolutely appalling and for someone that has spent a fair bit of money over the last two years with the @home group, I felt I was an unappreciated, good for nothing loyal customer. Shocking!
At another store in Cape Town, it was required that I had to pay 50% deposit on items that where in back order and had to wait for 6 weeks to get the items so clearly @home deems it suitable to mess around the client when it suits them, but when they need to go beyond the line of service - they just fail dismally.
I cant see that I would ever spend another cent with the group with an attitude of manager like that.
