Their mistake but no apology

I went to Woolworths yesterday (27 January 2013) and purchased a pair of pajamas for R199. When I got to the till, the Cashier, Puleng, hardly greeted me and proceeded to scan the bar code. The transaction was rung up as R225. I told Puleng that the price on the display was incorrect and that the tag on the pajamas showed R199.

She looked at the tag and then called her Supervsior for an override and the two of them continued to speak amongst themselves in their language. The transaction was voided and a new one created with the correct amount. At no time during this process was I spoken to, let alone apologised to.

I asked Puleng why she did not check the tag initially to ensure the price scanned was correct and then why she did not even apologise for the mistake. She looked at me with utter disregard and said "sorry".

I was furious! While I understand that a mistake can be made, I am horrified at how it was dealt with, like it was no big deal. People with this type of attitude should not be serving customers. Even after I had them call the Manager, Puleng still remained silent and indifferent.

I am bitterly disappointed! I will not be shopping there again.
