On the 4/9/2013 I visited Pick n Pay Witpoortjie to do some shopping. When I got to the cashier I placed my basket right in front of her on the counter gave her my smart shopper card and waited for her to start scanning the items. She sat looking at me and I asked her if she could start scanning my items upon which she replied "you do it! ". Astonished I looked at her and said "that is called customer service", she then replied that I as the customer packs the items out and she just scans. I packed the items out and told her that with an attitude like that she will not get anywhere in life. She then replied that, that is the way it is done there. I asked where I could find her manager, paid and immediately reported it to the manager. The manager did not even introduce himself to me, ask my details or give me a plan of action. I think this is very unprofessional and it is people like this that actually has the customer service in the state it currently is in South-Africa. I will out of principle never ever support Pick n Pay again and I will advice all my family, work colleagues and friends to rather use another supplier if they do not need our support as customers!
