In shop return policy?

Shops, Products, Services

Hi,

My wife bought a clothing item today, a few minutes later she returned the item as it wasn't fitting (she's pregnant). When we asked for a refund the store manager simply said no refund and that we HAVE to take an item in its place, hence FORCING us to buy from the shop.

After I made a fuss about the matter stating general return procedures as we are business owners ourself and threatening to lay a complaint, the sale was returned on the credit card. The lady behind the counter AFTER I asked about the exchange T&T's showed me the sign behind some other items not clearly displayed in any way. There are some signs outside the shop window, also "hidden in plain sight" and of course the T&T's on the slip. No where were my wife asked to sign any form of acknowledgment of the T&T's!

Now please enlighten me, is this in any way legal to force your clientele to buy from you regardless of there is nothing to your liking simply because you have a few hidden T&T signs? is this in any way compliant to the CPA? If so, it is daylight and I guess I have some work to do to ensure this matter gets some attention
