I went to shop rite checkers in Fordsburg, the cashier swiped my card and then advised me her till froze. Her supervisor then switched off her till and advised me that my transaction did not go through. I told that the transaction was approved and she advised that it failed. She re swiped my card, I left the store, and then my account was debited twice, I went back to the store and spoke to the assistant manager, he then referred me the admin staff, Sandy, she advised me that it happens everyday at their store and that the money is not in their bank account or mine, it was now in a suspense account, and that the money will be in my account in the next hour or so.
I tried to advise that the store needs to reverse the transaction, but she will not listen. I contacted my bank who advised that the transaction will not automatically get reversed.
How can a chain store like shop rite checkers can tell consumers that they double debit consumers daily and then to consumers that the transaction will automatic be credited to their banking account.
I am disgusted with their customer service.
