I made a purchase on 27 March 2013 at KFC Zambezi Junction store paying with my debit card.

The transaction went through on my bank account.

The system malfunctioned and the KFC system did not show that the transaction was successful. The cashier thought it a good idea to swipe my card again and the transaction went through my bank account again. I have paid for the transaction twice.

The store manager assured me that the double transaction will be reversed in 24 hours.

The cashier also informed me that this is done quite regularly.

I immediately complained to KFC's complaints centre.

Someone contacted me on 28 March 2013 and apologised and promised to resolve the situation and have my monies refunded and gave me a reference number: P5/13/401.

I have since not been refunded.

I contacted KFC Call Centre today and quoted the reference number and I was told that if I want a refund I should go get it back from KFC Zambezi Junction myself.

It is not a lot of money but it is my money and taken unlawfully amounts to.
