Our less than a year old washing machine stopped on 14th July. I logged a call and on 16th July Roy appeared. After trying to convince me a power surge was to blame he left to order a new motherboard. Today is 13th August and the machine is still dead. I have about 7 reference numbers and have chatted to Leslein (?) and the superviser Elwin or Alan or whatever and a few other devious call centre staff. All are proficient liars and change their story constantly so you never know what is actually going on. Did Roy ever order the part? Leslein says it has arrived and will be fitted tomorrow- that was 10 days ago. Alan mumbles apologies and promises urgent action- that was 2 weeks ago.
In their defence this is a truly appalling company with a rubbish product to match. They hold no spares at all in SA and I fail to understand why a simple timer switch has not arrived after 4 weeks. A little parcel takes 3 days to be delivered overseas and online purchases arrive after a week. Groups like Hirsch need to stop supporting this product and hopefully they will eventually leave SA for good. I will promote the demise of Whirlpool wherever possible, particularly on social media and the USA.
