Posting faulty products at own cost

Shops, Products, Services

I purchased a sewing machine online for my mother as a Mother`s day gift, which has been paid in full. She only recently started using the machine and discovered it was faulty. I contacted Homechoice on x2 occasions and on both occasions I was advised that I need to post the broken sewing machine back to them as it was not within 14 day guarantee. This is what I disagree with-Why must I pay postage fees, using my own time, how am I suppose to carry this machine to the post office- I do not own a car.
My problem is that the main reason why I purchased the Sewing Machine onlone was because I don`t get the time to go to the shops. I have also sent Homechoice an email about a week ago and they still have not responded. I normally make purchases on this online site, but if this is the type of service I receive, I will not make use of their services going forward & I will also let everyone know what to expect before they even try to make use of your services. I am totally disgusted with how this thing is handled as in the meantime I have a broken sewing machine sitting at home, my mom nagging me to get it fixed and I have no idea how I am going top get this thing to Homechoice.
