"We don't phone before delivering"

In a nutshell I ordered to be delivered to Grahamstown. I am not allowed to receive parcels at work and I also prefer to check my goods before signing them. I requested in my order that I be contacted on the day of delivery so I could be ready. The response was this "We noted in your special instructions that you asked for the courier to 'Call before delivery'. We just wanted to let you know that our couriers, Berco Express, don't call recipients before delivery but should they fail in their first attempt to deliver your parcel they will get in touch with you by phone to arrange a re-delivery " - it begs the question - why not get it right the first time.

I stay in a complex so they need to phone for me to open. I think for a company that runs on online deliveries the ball has been dropped. I phoned the courier myself and said they would phone and did - why am I doing other people's jobs for them. I asked Olivia to forward my complaint up the system and cc me in and she is now avoiding it all together. When you phone the call center she is the one that picks up. The solution she offers "we can cancel your order if you like". Really? Customer service is n/a and she to me.
