Refund taking to long

We ordered from home choice their 10pc bedding. It looked nice on their website, when it was delivered it was the worst quality I have ever seen. I then posted it back to them and I phoned them round about the 22nd or 23rd of July 2013 for my refund. The operator said they haven't received the package yet and when they do they will inspect it and phone me to refund me. I tracked the package and saw that it was delivered on the 19th of July 2013. So I phone them yet again today. The lady took my bank details and I asked her when will the refund be in my account. She says 7 - 10 days. Now I am thinking it must be 7 - 10 days after they received the package. No, it is 7 - 10 days after they the CUSTERMER phones them to provide banking details for refund. I am just thinking. Why should I wait another 7 - 10 days after I went trough the trouble to post it back to them, to phone them for my refund. The customer service are ridiculous. Why must I phone them for my refund, and why must I wait another 7 - 10 days for my refund. I am not happy with the service they provide. This means if I didn't phone to query my refund, they wouldn't have phoned me and I wouldn't received my refund.
