Puzzle incomplete and duplicate pieces

I have been a member for years, and this is the first time I have a complaint about Leisure Books. I ordered and paid for a puzzle for my mom in October 2012. She only opened and built it now in June/July, and discovered 4 pieces missing AND 2 pieces that are duplicates. I phoned Leisure Books and spoke to a Sonia who said she will immediately send me a new one, and I must return the incorrect one. After looking on the system, she confirmed that they dont have stock of that specific puzzle, but will enquire from the product division if they didnt have other complaints about the product and get back to me. A couple of days later I get a call from Leisure Books stating that they wont take back and refund or exchange the product as I had 14 days to return the product if I was not satisfied with it. How is my mom supposed to open and build a puzzle immediately to see if parts are there or not - she lives alone and therefor no children or anyone else could loose the parts... I buy her lots of puzzles (from Leisure Books) to build in winter when she cannot work in the garden etc. Now a pensioner is less R100 or more AND no complete puzzle. Thanks to Leisure Books!
