I purchased a coat at Identity in Eastgate on Wednesday the 5th, I was in a hurry and didn't try on any of the items purchased. It was only when I got home did I try on all the clothes, I put the coat back in the packet with the intention to return it, unfortunately, the tag was stuck in the zipper and it got detached when I tried to unzip it. On Friday I was in Alberton and I found that they had the coat in a bigger size, I went on to purchase the bigger coat and asked the smaller one to be credited back to my account, the shop assistant said that she would not accept the coat because it 'looked' like it had been worn for a few hours. I asked how I could wear a coat for hours when it is clearly too small. I have had my Identity account for 8 years and I'm a regular shopper at the Alberton branch, I have never received such substandard and pathetic service. I understand that she is doing her job, but its a pity that clothes are only scrutinized when you return them, but not when they are being bought by the customer. I feel that the lady took advantage of the fact that the swing ticket was no longer attached to the coat and ASSUMED that I had worn it. I am disappointed and annoyed
