Time wasting

I went to legit with receipt and tags still on clothes to exchange goods. The lady at the door who i told i was. There to exchange goods did not mention that goods cannot be exchanged as its older than 30days. She took the package to the counter and said once ive found what im looking for i should go to the counter and just tell them im exchanging as my clothes are there. I shopped around for a while and when i got what i wanted i went to the counter only to be told they cant exchange as the 30day period is over. They couldve checked this before telling me to shop around the store for something else as this wasted my time. I couldve been told when i entered that they were not going to exchange. The receipt i had mentioned nothing about 30days. It only showed T&c's for account holders
