I pay R508 p/m and new clients pay R285 p/m

I noticed on my debit's that ADT is charging me R508 p/m. When I signed up, ADT offered me a rate which their competition could not match. I now called around and found much better pricing from the competition and then out of curiosity, I called ADT and the salesman, not knowing that I am an existing client paying R508, now quoted R280 p/m. I then revealed to the sales person that I am paying R508. I had my own alarm system installed at my cost and then linked up to ADT so there should be no loading of equipment costs on my premium. The salesman admitted that I could have been signed up at a competitive rate but due to annual increases over the years, my pricing would have increased by standard rates.
