Cancellation of Tracker Device not possible

The day when I got my Velociti Golf, my insurance informed me that I need a Tracker device installed in the car otherwise they will not cover the vehicle if it got and if they insured the car it will be more that I usually pay for the insurance. They (Ingwe Santam - insured at that time) paid for the installation of the device. So Altech Netstar contacted me and they said I need to pay a monthly instalment of R75 per month and I NEED to sign a contract for 36 months nothing less. We changed insurance on a later stage.
I never used this device because my car is always safe were ever I parked and at home. I can't cancel the device according Altech Netstar, now I need to pay the monthly instalment of R75 per month till it is finished. They want to charge me (a good customer) R800 to transfer the device that I think it is ridiculous. My new car doesn't need a tracker device
My question is: As a customer point of view, what if my car was and never recovered must I still pay for something that I don't use? Santam forced me to take out the tracker although the car was fully insured, and why do we have to 'voice sign' a contract for so many months?
