ADT billing me for their own mistakes

When I had my ADT alarm system activated a few months ago, the consultant that arrived did not know how to program the alarm and told me that I should call a technician to get it programmed in. The technician arrived and set everything up.

Then, 2 months later I get a letter from ADT stating that they will pursue legal action if I do not pay the owing amount (an amount that I had never seen before). When I queried this with ADT (with the man listed in the complaint) I was told that the situation had been queried and no action would take place until the query had been resolved. This was on the 23 Aug 2013.

I have heard nothing since despite multiple emails and phone calls and today the money was just deducted off my bank account. I have tried to get hold of this person multiple times as well as his supervisor but no one is picking up their phones.

How can ADT bill me because their own consultant did not know how to do their job properly? Is this the way that they treat their customers?
