In 2011 I cancelled my services with ADT giving a 2-3 month notice period. I sent an email to the accounts department who promptly forwarded it to the cancellations department and ccd me on the email.
No one contacted me from the cancellations department. 12 months later I was contacted by ADT for their equipment which we arranged for immediate collection. I contacted to say that I owed /-R4500 because I was in breach of the contract that I signed in 2001. I asked for a copy of the contract and enquired why I wasn't contacted when I sent my cancellation email to inform me that there will be penalties/charges. After several phone calls to the credit controller, I received an email from their attorneys asking me not to contact their client because I was handed over. The attorneys were rude and abrupt and refused to supply me with this information. I was given different settlement amounts. When I refused to pay they told me they would get a judgment against me. I requested that they send me the summons so I can contest it in court. I followed up a few times earlier this year to no avail. I have not received the summons to date but I been listed as a default payer.
