Requested contract to be terminated

I have had an 8ta 3G card with Telkom. After several months I installed ADSL at my home and hence requested Telkom to terminate the 3G card and 8ta account.

In February 2013 I called to cancel the 8ta contract and was told I can only do so on expiry in July 2013, and that I have to give 1 month's notice. So I called again in June 2013 to cancel the contract. On 1 August I noticed the same direct debit went off my account so I called 8ta again and said I requested the contract to be cancelled. I was told a person from cancellations will contact me shortly.

Needless to say they never contacted me and on 1 September the DD just went off again. I called again and went through the whole explanation and requests again. This time I was told the cancellations department did try contact me but I was unavailable.

After requesting the cancellation yet again on 1 October the DD went off again. So again I contacted 8ta (still have the last reference number) and again was told the cancellation department will contact me and will cancel the contract. I have again to date not heard anything.

Watch out and beware!! Off to bank now to put stop payment on DD
