I recently sold my car and had to have the Netstar subscription cancelled. I was informed that a further month would be deducted beyond the cancellation date in subscription fees. I queried why and was told that this is how insurance companies work. I dont see the relevance of charging an additional months service to cover some ficititious cost. Their subscription is paid in advance in any event. The loss of income should be the pro rated number of days that between the end of the service and the monthly end date/bill date.

I find it abhorrent that a company wants me to pay for the priviledge of discontuining their service. Do we as customers still tolerate this kind of service in ZA? Admittedly its part of their contract terms and conditions apparently. I just dont think its valid in this day and age.

It also meant that I wont renew a business relationship with them. Tot up that customer lifetime cost vs the extra month you want to grab from me, marketing department.
