My car had been written off on 02 May 2013, so i reported the incident, towards the end of the month as i was still recovering from the accident, i was then told there was a form and a fee of R850 that needs to be paid before a technician can be sent to deactivate the device, i paid the amount as per conversation. A week and half later i was called by a consultant that said the device was removed. Three days or so later i had a another call from Cartrack saying the device could not be removed, it was damaged and an additional fee of R449 needs to be paid, which was never discussed initially. So i was very upset by this incident and what makes it worse is that the instalment is still being debited monthly even though there is no car. The lady i spoke to did not make a formal apology, and now i am unable to buy a car (have to wait 3-6 months for new credit record) because of the "unpaid payments" reflecting on my bank account, whereby Cartrack has been deducting the R449 without consulting, to make that amount available once they have sorted out the misunderstanding. So i am very upset and have lodged a complaint with them, they have not gotten back to me since lodging the complaint.
