Unfairly treated

I cancelled my ADT contract in December last year, with more than a month's notice given (in writing). I was never contacted by anyone from ADT again and was very surprised to find out, when I wanted to open a new bank account, that I had been listed with ICT. According to ADT I signed a 3-year contract, which came as a big surprise to me as I never even had a 3-year lease contract where I was staying! Why would I take out a 3-year contract for armed response for a place where I was only going to be staying for 1 year? The documents that I have does not state a contract period anywhere, not even on the fine print at the back. Despite numerous requests to ADT and many promises from them, the latest being an e-mail to Ruth Hatting on the 13th of June, I have still not received a copy of any document that I have signed for a 3-year contract. Despite this, I have been lsited with ICT as a bad payer and my credit rating is now so bad that I am struggling to do basic things like opening a bank account! Never mind fair, is this even legal? Of course I would be glad to pay any money due, provided ADT can show me proof that I entered into a 3-year contract with them.
