On Monday 30/09/2013 I called DSTV to downgrade the package that we were currently on. The lady I spoke to assured me that the package had been downgraded and that the new debit order amount of R263.00 (Pro-rata) would be debited from my account on the 01/10/2013. I repeatedly asked her this question in our conversation and she assured me that the R325.00 (Premium Package) would not go off my account again. When I got home on Monday at lunch time the channels had already been downgraded to the Compaq as per my request.

My debits ran yesterday and the full amount of R625.00 was debited off my account. I called DSTV this morning and the gentleman I spoke to said that I should have been told that it i need to give DSTV 30 days notice of changes like this. I asked for the funds to be refunded to me and he said it would take 5-6 working days. I asked him if I could speak to his supervisor. Nompumelelo Xhosa came on the line and informed me this is the procedure and there is nothing DSTV can do. She informed me that the refund would take 7-14 days. I asked her for the name on the person I spoke to on Monday and she said she is not allowed to disclose this information. I
