Age inappropriate trailers and advertisements

We are very cautious about taking our children to movies that are only age specific and appropriate for their viewing age.
This is now the third time we have been to either an All Ages or PG rated Children's movie (Despicable Me 2 the most recent) where the preview trailers or advertisements are NOT suitable for children under 9yrs of age. We even asked the Sales Kiosk lady last night if she knew if the trailers where appropriate but she did have an answer.
The preview for Pacific Rim is not appropriate for a trailer in a PG rated movie as it has a rating of PG13. What should have been an enjoyable experience turned into one having to console a scared child before the main feature had even started!
3 times unlucky and it is time to do something about it or stop taking my children for a treat at the movies
