Refund not paid

I was incorrectly billed for a package I had cancelled a year ago. Called in and even though they could see on their system I had cancelled it took over a month to get them to agree to a refund. On 24 April I was emailed that they would refund me and I should wait 7-10 working days for it to reflect. On Friday 10th May I emailed them stating nothing has been deposited. They said they processed a cheque on the 9th and I should check with my bank. Went to bank yesterday and nothing is reflecting on my account.

Why is this taking so long? And if they deposited the refund like they said they did then surely the money should be in by now. This is totally unacceptable.
