Agents think they have authority over tenants

My contract was coming to an end (Jan) and Cas sent an email asking whether I will renew/extend/terminate the contract; I asked for 1 months extension and to have the lease cancelled end of Feb. 2 weeks prior to my contract ending he sent me emails asking whether I will terminate my contract, of which I only saw the night before moving out and I responded quoting what I had said in my previous email regarding terminating. He claims I should have given him a letter -- I don't see what difference it makes as I had replied with the cancellation date so I did not see the necessity of still writting a letter?!? On my last day I could not leave the premises as he did not let the security guards know that I will be moving out then still had a nerve to tell me he'll charge for 1 days rent!
This man is so rude and has no respect. He thinks because people sign lease agreements they have no rights to say anything. I would NOT reccomend anyone to move into properties administered by Rental Pro's.
