Beware Fellow Landlord's and Tenants!!!

We were duped by Desiree Lategan from Ocean Echo Properties operating in the Plumstead and surrounds area into an un-managed Lease whereby she held the damages deposit. As the landlord, I have had to deal with tenants who would not pay utilities, nor rental, nor allow us access to the property for post or inspections or otherwise. We had to get lawyers involved to legally terminate the lease and followed eviction process to get the illegal occupants off our property. Even after the lease was legally cancelled and illegal occupants had left and keys given back, Desiree Lategan refused to give back our damages deposit knowing full well the extent of damages caused to the property and outstanding rental and utility bills the tenants- that she asked we please accept as tenants as a personal favor to her- accrued. She was also aware of loss of rental due to this exercise and knew we had to return the house to a more habitable state but needed the damages deposit to do so - thus forcing us to incur further loss of rental. Numerous excuses, and delays. I have handed her over to our lawyers. Other agents have disagreed with the way she operates. This is not the first report.
