Dishonest theft and not treating clients fair

Dear Public Protector's Office,

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Huurkor (PTY) LTD reg. No :1963/006228/07 regarding their handling of my tenancy and the charges they are imposing on me. I recently vacated the premises due to unforeseen circumstances of unemployment, which significantly impacted my ability to continue paying rent.

Upon moving out, Huurkor is charging me for wear and tear on the unit, which I strongly dispute as these damages were pre-existing and not caused by me. Furthermore, they are demanding that I settle a prepaid water bill despite my current financial situation being severely strained due to my unemployment. It's worth noting that I was required to pay a double deposit due to my bad credit score when I signed the lease agreement.

I have attempted to reach a mutually agreeable solution with Huurkor, but unfortunately, we have not been able to come to a point of understanding. Given the circumstances, I believe their demands are unreasonable and unfair.

I kindly request that your office investigate this matter and assist in resolving the dispute between Huurkor and me. I would appreciate guidance on how to proceed and potentially find a fair resolution.i'm more than happy forward a copy of the contract and photographs taken upon moving out
