Contract Renewal Fee

I entered into a contract with Huurkor for student accommodation in February. With the contract renewal, we were only suppose to indicate if the student would be staying there in the following year. Once we have confirmed this, the contract fee (similar to the initiation of the contract is payable).

Why is the contract and administration fee so exorbitant for an existing contract?
