Just Letting
Refuse to pay my deposit back

Hello Peter,

my name is clive njela and i was renting a flat in New Germany Pinetown through Just Letting Westville in 2012. My company transferred me to Johannesburg and i notified Just letting on the developments on 04 Dec 2012. On the 5th of December, they advised me of the penalties involved due to ending lease term prematurely. The amount indicated on the 5th is R5480.54 which i accepted.

The last normal rental monthly payment was made in December for the notice month of December. The payments made to just letting for the penalties were on 02 Jan 2013 in the amount of R1050.85 and the last payment made on 09 Jan 2013 in the amount of R4550.00.

They are now refusing to pay my deposit back claiming that i have defaulted on my payments to them.

I have all the documents to proof that i am right and they are wrong. I have obtained a legal opinion on the matter and handed all evidence to my lawyer. I will also lay criminal charges against them for i regard this as defrauding myself, a member of the public.
