Bad Customer Service from Steer and Co

Applied for a Rental lease with Steer and Co for a flat in Goodwood. The agent advised the process will take 3working days to process. Upon constant calls and emails to Agent, eventually she had some concrete to answer me, saying that all checks are complete and now they have to forward through the application to the owner. Only after a lot of calls and emails we get told 5days later our application has been denied and the reason is confidential, but we paid a reference check fee of R114.
