It took 9months to process work permit application

I applied for a general work permit at Home Affairs in Pretoria via an immigration attorney with good reputation and experience. He told me that my application was very clean and straight forward. It took Home Affairs 9 months!!! to decide over the outcome. My attorney and myself have spend considerable time on the phone or trying to call them or writing emails. Half way through my attorney got permission to resubmit to the head office which didn't speed up the process either. In particular Mrs. Maggie April who did not respond to emails or phone calls at all. Upon meeting with my attorney she promised to have the application processed within 5 working days twice. This only happened 2-3 month later.
