Embarrassment to the sport of Karate

WKF KKZN Championship Karate tournament held at Tongaat Sports Hall in Tongaat north of Durban. Firstly the venue was no doubt unsuitable for the event as it was too small and not well ventilated. The most appalling was the toilets. Both male & female toilets were in really bad condition with not a toilet paper roll available. The cooling fans did not work and participants were falling off to sleep. The caterers were extremely unprofessional. They served hotdogs in stale buns & the vegetable patties were kept in the same tray as the meat patties. The lack of concern for the kids who waited more than half the day before their division were called up to compete was the absolute highlight. These are little kids. My daughter & I reached the venue at 7am for the weigh-in. Her division was only called up 17:30 to compete. She was too tied & as were all kids that waited too long. So I was very irritated at the fact that my daughter was too hot, couldn't go to the toilet, could not eat, waited too long to lose her fight that in my opinion was unfairly judged.
As were most of the matches. I hope that Vice President Sensei Sonny Pillay and his team can get the next one right.
