Confirmed payment, then refused to pay

On 18/02/2013 Charlene van Rensburg from CareCross (part of Topmed) confirmed in writing to Dr. Vermaak Pathologist that account to amount of R980 will be paid. Today the Pathologist sent me SMS threatening with legal action, as CareCross has now confirmed telephonically that amount will not be paid! The pathologist is now demanding immediate payment from me, otherwise they will proceed with legal action. My credit record can now be adversely effected due to their negligence.
