REQUESTS PROCEDURES AT CLIENTS EXPENSE!

Requested pre-authoritativeness for an operation early in March, had to chase up with Discovery until they eventual asked Surgeon to provide a motivation letter and supporting documentation.
Some 3 weeks after requesting pre-authorization and less than 24hrs before the operation I was stilling having to chase discover, they then ask for an additional procedure to be done before they will authorize the operation - this procedure typical takes a week to get results and is quite painful. Post results of this procedure discovery then reject the request for authorization as a "general policy exclusion" - Here again, this has not been formal communicated back to be but was uncovered by repeatedly having to call their 0860998877 number and be placed on hold for hours. Where the story becomes more annoying is that Discovery then deduct their requested procedure from my Medical Savings Account - their requested procedure being almost 1/2 the cost of the operation. The levels of frustration at repeat calls and follow ups is unreal - Discovery's ethics and professionalism are non existent!
Still awaiting to have my calls returned and a formal response to all of this...
