Discovery health misleading pregnant women

Health & Medicine

I recently discovered that I'm 2 months pregnant, knowing how our public sector is, i decided to get medico aid to ensure i deliver a healthy baby. Yesterday i logged on the Discovery health website to view my options the key care plus was the perfect plan for me "well so i thought ". On the online registration forms it clearly states that a waiting period of 3 months will be applicable for women who join the medical aid after getting pregnant, i sent a request to be called back by an agent. I was flabbergasted to find out that it was all a load of. The agent advised that the waiting period is 12 months. Why are d waiting periods incorrect. Its misleading and unfair. I was more than willing to wait for 3 months before having any benefits. I want to make sure both my unborn baby and i are safe, its not like i was going to cancel the membership after my baby's birth, i intended on staying on the medical aid indefinitely. Why all the, what must i believe? Cant a pregnant woman get decent medical aid without n deciet?
