My husband is on spectramed, his membership number is 65040551778. Our medical aid has been paid in full but due to costs and unreasonable price increase I have recently decided to terminate the medical aid. We were informed that it will be suspended as of 30/04/2013. That being said, a few days ago my husband was diagnosed with Hypertension, today he had gone back after blood test results to the pharmacy to get medication but the medical aid refused to have him take any until Monday. I want to point out that High blood pressure can often lead to heart attack and heart failure, stroke, kidney failure. This is what I now deal with knowing anything can happen from today until Monday and all that would have stopped it was his vital medication! Spectramed's services are horrible and I'm sure forbid he needs hospitalization they will then too deny him but it will be there fault, what kind of medical aid does such things to paying customers??? I have had to fight just so he could see a GP, I also had to fight to cancel this medical aid, service is just putrid
