Earrangment or refund on accomodation booking

On the Friday 22 March 2013 I had made a reservation for accommodation with see Africa on the south coast, on Saturday 23 March 2013 a deposit of R2600.00 was paid into the account of See Africa, due to unanticipated situations I had to cancel this reservation which was done telephonically on Monday 25 March 2013.
I have been in contact with See Africa regarding the rearrangement of accommodation date or a refund, and to my surprise they have stated that they cannot do that.
What do i do now?
