Non-refund of deposit

On the 18th of January 2013 I made a deposit of R3600 into Georgia's (cell 0836357404; [Email Removed] account Ga Chevers for accomodation for my son who was to return to University of Pretoria. Unfortunately, my son opted to continue his education in Cape Town and hence did not take up the accomodation.

I had requested that the deposit be refunded to me, but here is the reply I recieved:

I am sorry that you had to cancel the accommodation.
Because you have let me down, and I have turned others away, I'm afraid you do not get your deposit back.
Anywhere where you pay a deposit you don't get it back if you cancel. So sorry!

I then replied as shown below:

Thank you for the response. I am sorry I had to cancel. The cancellation was not deliberate and you were informed as soon as we knew he was not taking it up. Yes I acknowledge you turned out some others and I do apologize for it but you eventually had someone occupying the place. It is human to understand and please refund. Refund of deposit is normal. You may charge me for the inconvenience but to say you will not refund that I find surprising. Please consider!

I did not receive further response. Please help!
