Really disappointed with Discovery Health

I joined Discovery in 2007 December. It came as a shock to me that Discovery doesn't pay for emergency situations if u do not have funds on your savings account. So what Discovery is saying is that I should die or pay cash. I'm curious, all that money I pay a month, where does it go?
