I returned home from the UK for my mothers funeral. Notwithstanding the grief accompanying such a journey I am concerned by the reported methods used in selling an Elite Go Go Traveller to her. My Mom was 87 years old at the time of purchase, suffering from a number of medical conditions including advanced osteo-athritis to both knees and hips and Epilepsy. In my opinion the precautionary Safety note on page 8 of the Users manual should have at the very least been explained. I quote from the manual "Please be aware that the final selection and purchasing decision regarding the travel scooter to be used is the responsibility of the Travel Scooter user and her healthcare professional". I understand that when my mother asked for time to consider the purchase she was warned about a potential increase in price, a fact now disputed by the agent. My Brother in law has had detailed discussions with agents of this company without satisfaction.
My overriding concern is that this company sells products to groups who by the very nature of the medical needs are potentially vulnerable. In my opinion more care should be taken and I would strongly argue that this was not done.
