Non-Payment for Mobilty Scoote

I am writing this complaint on behalf of my mother as she is not able to write. My mom has Multiple-Sclerosis, and is almost a paraplegic. I requested her Medical aid "Profmed" to please pay for her for a mobility scooter. They refused. She is on the highest possible plan at them. I got a quote from shoprider South-Africa, and a motivational letter from her Doctor, stating that she desperately needs a new Scooter. The scooter to her is like prosthetic limbs for an amputee. She uses it in the house, to go to the shops, basically everything in her life. As a so called elite medical scheme, one would have thought that profmed would pay, or subsidise the purchase of a mobility scooter. It's not like she even uses the medical aid allot. She doesn't take expensive medications, or go to neurologists, or hospitals. To pay over R4000 per month, and be treated like someone in a state hospital is disgusting to say the least. I am going to all lengths possible to make sure they pay for her scooter. This medical aid should be ashamed of themselves.
