Only covers claims for "medical" wigs on oncology

I am so disheartened at Discovery's refusal to pay for a wig which my mom bought at a wig shop.
She is currently on the oncology programme and undergoing chemotherapy.

The gentleman at Discovery told me that it would not be covered as it is not a medical wig supplied by an accredited provider. When I perused Discovery's website there was no mention of this except that they would pay for your wig from your MSA account provided you are on the programme and undergoing chemo. There is not even an accredited list of wig providers.

We did not go around looking for the most expensive and fancy wig. In fact we shopped carefully and chose the most reasonably priced one, as my mom needs to hold onto her funds in her MSA account for other much needed services and chronic medicine.

Fighting cancer and losing your hair to chemo is extremely traumatic. To be so harshly penalised for buying the wig from a shop, even when there is no mention of this policy on their website, is shameful.
