On the 24th February 2010, i went to Drs Payne & Louw to have a look at my teeth and supply me with a quotation to straighten my teeth as im a PRIVATE patient. They sent me a quotation for R3161.49. I accepted the quote and scheduled my first appointment to have the treatment done. On the first visit, the dentist took my measurements for my new crown. The following day he contacted me to say that i need to come in again due to some issue with the measurements and that he needs to measure again. No problem, i happily went back. From the 24th February 2010 to 7th April i went back to the dentist for repeated work FOUR times and during that period i was happy to pay. On the 5th May 2010 i paid what i thought would be my last payment which was R6765.64 which was R3604.15 more than the quotation. Six months later i had to go back to the dentist due to the fact that the crown came loose. Unknown to me i received another bill for R1847.50 which i REFUSED to pay, because i feel the work wasn't done correctly the first time. Since then they have handed me over to Marais Muller Yekiso Attorneys and reported me to ICT (TransUnion), so that i now have a default on my credit record.
