Bonitas
Only Once Anaesthesia per life time

Health & Medicine

My daughter is 3 years old and has had dental treatment earlier this year, which the medical aid did not pay in full. She unfortunately has to go for more treatment under anaesthesia, but the medical aid does not cover for this even though she is still a baby. I have been consulting your brochure and no where does it state that there is a limit to this benefit of once a lifetime. I only know about this because it was said when we had to do the treatment in March this year. Now I understand the fillings which have been done on the same teeth won't be covered, that is understandable. But please explain to me how you put a 3 year old girl in the dentist chair to do extractions and more fillings on more than 10 teeth, this is an emergency because she has an abscess as a result of one filling falling out and the tooth is broken to the skin.
Unfortunately for your medical scheme I am considering going to Discovery because of this problem. My daughter does not eat a lot of sweets, so the dentist cannot say whether the work done earlier this year is the reason for having to have to do more work on her teeth. Why don't you stipulate these details before we take your schemes?
