Unfair cancellation of Medical Aid

I wish to express my dissatisfaction with Discovery for unfairly cancelling my membership due to claimed Non disclosure. I applied for membership in June when i first begun work with my employer. I requested then received my medical certificate on 25 July 2012 and made an initial visit to the doctor on the 26 July 2012 for a lump which appeared on my throat on the 25th July 2012.The doctor did admit me to hospital on the 30th July 2012. I required authorisation from Discovery to be admitted to theatre and that is when my ordeal begun. After calling several times in attempt to receive authorisation i received an interrogating call from Discovery informing me that I was in breach of my contract and that my membership had been cancelled. I believe that there was much assumption involved in the decision and a heatless and extreme action taken by Discovery. Not only did they not pay for a condition which I was unaware of before applying for membership but also did they forcefully cancel my medical Aid. I am now a single pregnant woman with no medical aid due to Discovery's action. This action by Discovery has caused me enormous stress and I pray for rectification. Elizabeth Anne Chetty
