Since October, I've tried to get a Tax Certificate. I actually did receive one, but surprisingly the Tax Claimable portion indicate R0.00 while my last member statement indicate that my tax claimable portion is R15101.00. On my question why there is a difference between the two, I was informed that "I DID NOT SEND INMY CLAIMS TO GEMS." "I MUST PLEASE SEND IN MY CLAIMS SO THAT THEY CAN PUT IT ON THE TAX CERTIFICATE" Such uninformed advice I never heard inmy live. Since I am a member of GEMS, I never have this problem and even my husband do not have that problem. Now they want me to send all my receipts of the current year to them so that they can try to fix my Tax Certificate. As one of the other complaints mentrioned, you send in emails and onlyu receive feedback that they will contact you in 48 hours but they forgot to say when that 48 hours starts. Seemingly the 48 hours starts next year.
I need to know where I can go with my complaint and who to contact at GEMS because the enquiries@gems.gov.za is useless.
