Overcharging

Dr van der merwe our local General practioner has been treating my whole family for the past 10 years or more. Last week I was diagnosed by him as having a bladder and kidney infection. The consultation was not more than 15 minutes. He was in such a hurry to get consultation over. I was in severe pain. He did not do routine check up of taking blood pressure, listening to heart and normal routine doctors do. He moved into new premesis and his attention was focused on the new alarm being installed. On leaving his rooms, I was presented a bill of R660.00 for 15 minutes of consultation of which he did not fully attend to me. What a rip off. What happened to the Hippocrates oath doctors take or is it just a case of money making, and no interest in the patients well being. This is certainly the case in this instance. Very disappointed and disgusted after all these years of seeing him as our doctor. Have reported the matter to the HPCSA. They investigating the matter. Shocking and disgusted.
